Who we are
We are Watlington Community Property Limited, a Community Benefit Society in the process of registration with the Financial Conduct Authority. Our purpose is to acquire and manage commercial property in Watlington for the long-term benefit of the local community.

We are the data controller for all personal data you provide to us. This means we are responsible for deciding how and why your data is used, and for keeping it safe.
What data we collect and why

How we use your data
We use your data only for the purpose for which you provided it. We will never sell your data or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
If you have registered an interest or signed up for updates, we will use your name and email address to send you information about WCP's progress, the share offer, and community events in Watlington. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing us at secretary@watlingtoncpt.org.uk.
Who we share your data with
We use the following services to help us communicate and manage information. These services process your data on our behalf and are required to keep it secure and use it only for the purposes we specify.

Both services operate data processing agreements compliant with UK GDPR. Where data is transferred outside the UK, appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.
How long we keep your data
- Newsletter subscribers and registered supporters: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, or after three years of inactivity — whichever is sooner.
- Management Committee applicants: until the recruitment process is complete, then deleted unless you become a committee member.
- Members: for the duration of your membership and for six years afterwards, as required by our Rules and financial record-keeping obligations.
- General correspondence: for three years from the date of the correspondence.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct any inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent to process your data
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
